Natural gas, as a clean resource, plays an important role in the world’s energy consumption. Meanwhile, the scale of the pipeline network for transportation is greatly increasing year by year. As a result, the management is becoming a vital issue of natural gas engineering. Numerical modeling of the transportation is a highly efficient way for operation optimization, dispatching, decision making and so on. Furthermore, the intelligent algorithm will equip the conventional numerical methods to be a powerful tool for natural gas engineering. This special issue focuses on all science, engineering, technology and management related problems. Original manuscripts which include numerical modeling of pipe transportation, theoretical studies, consumption prediction, intelligent algorithm combination, composition tracking, calorific value tracking and real-world applications are solicited for this special issue.
